24th November Sparkle Prayer Space - Yvonne Burton

A dozen lovely children gathered in the hall on Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Counsell and Mrs Tyler, they were sincerely engaged in thinking about & discussing the recent awful events which took place in Paris.

As someone with a passion for France who has quite recently lived in Paris, it was a privilege for me to be given the opportunity to say a prayer in French.

23rd October Coffee Morning - Yvonne Burton

It was great to drop in at coffee morning yesterday and see so many new faces. There were about 15 mums with their little ones, all chatting happily, or playing happily according to age. Such a good atmosphere. With four or five regular visitors absent, it makes a really good group of about twenty adults, with room for more and we'd be very happy to welcome more folk to enjoy this relaxed and friendly get together.

1st October Coffee Morning - Yvonne Burton

Coffee morning was brilliant today, my first visit this term. So many new folk, lovely children, good chats and great atmosphere. It is an excellent event. Thank you.

24th September  Coffee Morning - Lou Burridge

It was great to be able to go along to the weekly coffee morning today. The fact that it was also a cake sale in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support was an added bonus! It was good to see a mix of established parents, those with children who have just started their Rowanfield Infant journey and some toddlers who are our gems of the future. Everyone was made very welcome and Laura did a marvellous job manning the cake stall (I believe she was also responsible for some early morning baking too!). A member of the school nursing service also visited and told everyone about how they can support families and there was a real buzz about the new PTFA. Thank you to everyone who provided cakes (they were delicious) or who came along to support the event. I look forward to seeing how much was raised for this great cause once it’s all been counted up.

2nd September 2015 First Day! - Lou Burridge

How lovely to see all the children return to school this morning after the summer break. They all looked so smart in their uniforms and were very excited to be back in school with their friends. For many, this was the start of their school experience and a big step for both parents and child. It’s an exciting time when your child starts school – you’ll have lots of fun over the coming weeks hearing about the exciting things they are doing in class!

It was a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to say hello to many of the parents in the playground too. Everyone loved the bright new multi-coloured fence which was painted over the holidays. The playground is looking great!

13rd July Year 2 Performance - Ellen Butt

What a delightful play, full of enthusiasm and talent. The teachers and children have worked really hard to produce a performance they can be very proud of. Well done to all the Year 2 children and I would like to wish them all the very best in their new school.

3rd July Rowanfield Rocks - Kathryn Martin

Rowanfield Rocks was fantastic afternoon of fun and entertainment. There was an air of excitement among the staff and pupils as final preparations were made in the morning for what was clearly a very successful community event. The children were proud to show off their hard work and creativity on the Enterprise stalls and it was a great opportunity for them to contribute to fund-raising that will benefit the schools and community. Well done to all involved - lots of hard work but the smiles and laughter said it was all worthwhile.

2nd July 2015 Amber Class Story Session for New Intake - Lou Burridge

I was very pleased to get the chance to meet some of the new Reception children and their parents today as part of the transition process. It was lovely to see them all sitting so well to listen to the story and I was very impressed that the teacher had remembered all their names from their previous visit! They were all so excited but understandably some were a little nervous so it was lovely to see how the Reception team worked together and gently encouraged them all to take part. By the end of the story, they were all engaged and singing along to Hickory Dickory Dock. Ruth the mouse will have lots of new friends to play with after the summer holidays!

25th March 2015 Peridot Class ICT Showcase - Ruth Trippett

I visited Peridot class who were busy showing their parents their ICT skills. The children had created some great Apps with a range of characters chasing round the screens in different games - it was amazing seeing what they could do - there was even a football game App! There were some fabulous Egyptian pictures being created on the laptops too and the children were proudly showing parents what they have been doing.

26th September 2014 Reception Party Show - Ellen Butt

A lovely way to celebrate the first full week of school for Year R. They all clearly enjoyed performing their story which they all had learnt. Lots of proud parents filled the hall and we all celebrated with fruit kebabs made by the children, of which they were immensely proud.

11th July 2014 Year 2 Music Festival Trip - Chrissie Oates

Today I was lucky enough to join the year 2 children on their trip to the music festival in Cheltenham. I was so proud of how well behaved the children were and we received many compliments from members of the general public on their lovely manners and sensible attitudes whilst out and about!

The children (and I!) thoroughly enjoyed seeing some truly inspirational performances during the concert from Buskaid (, some of Gloucestershires most talented young musicians and also enjoyed watching James Mayhew paint to music, producing some stunning artwork.

After a lovely lunch in the gardens outside the town hall, the children took part in hands on music workshops. They got the chance to try lots of different instruments and it was fabulous to see them trying new things and asking lots of insightful questions from the musicians running the workshops. What a fantastic day!
