Arbor
At Rowanfield Infant School, we use a parent portal called Arbor. The portal has an associated parent app which you must download to your phone. The app will give you access to a host of information about life at school which is explained further below.
Parents will receive an email welcoming them to the Arbor Community. From here, you can sign up and create your parent account. The Arbor App is available to download from the App Store or Google Play Store for Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 and upwards.
If you require any further assistance setting up your account or app, please get in touch with the school office.
Pupil Information
Your Arbor app will allow you to see the information we hold on your child in school – ranging from their name and date of birth to medical information and photo permissions. Within the app, you are able to keep school updated with all of your latest information. The app also allows you to see your child’s average attendance over the course of the academic year.
Communication
The Arbor app has a built-in messaging service, complete with push notifications. For example, if we need to send a short message, you will receive an in-app notification. If we publish a letter or newsletter to you, we will send a website link via the in-app notification and you will receive a copy in your emails. When you download the app, please ensure you have enabled push-notifications.
Arbor offers us the opportunity to share outward facing communication. Should you ever want to get in touch with us, please make use of our open-door policy by speaking to your class teacher, a member of the Leadership Team, or emailing the school office.
Parents’ Evenings
Arbor will be the portal we use to enable you to book slots for Parents’ Evenings when they are scheduled in the Autumn and Spring terms.
Clubs and Trips
Arbor allows us to inform you of clubs and trips and for you to grant your permission for your child to attend. We will therefore no longer be sending letters out with permission slips on the bottom for you to detach and return to school. Instead, you will simply click a button within the app to request a place at a club or grant permission for your child to attend a trip. Arbor also allows us to collect payments for trips and clubs where applicable, which is explained further below.
Payments
Arbor is the place where you make payments to school – for example for trips, clubs or school meals. If it is the case that, for example, a school trip requires a payment, you will see this indicated as in the image above – as you sign up for the trip you will be able to add your payment towards it. This will be the same for any paid-for clubs.
You will also find an area within the app where you can make payments towards your child’s school meals. Within the ‘Meals’ section of the app you have a simple option to top-up your balance and keep on top of school meal payments.
