Rowanfield Coffee hut opens!

Come and join us for a cup of coffee and cake every Wednesday between 9:00am and 10:30am. Pre-school children are very welcome too! We will be located in the terrapin building in the infant playground. On alternate weeks there will also be fabulous guest speakers, workshops and activities. We look forward to seeing you there!

Monday 16th September

Messy Mondays are back!

A great pre-school session where children and parents can come and enjoy messy play! Sessions run from 10:00 – 11:30am in the infant school hall. Please dress your little ones in old clothes J

Friday 20th September

Jeans for Genes day

500,000 children in the UK are affected by a life -  altering genetic disorder. You are invited to wear jeans/denim on Friday 20th September to help us raise funds to transform these children’s lives. £1 donation please.

Year 2 Experience Harvest

Year 2 pupils will walk to St Barnabas Church to experience a harvest celebration

Wednesday 2nd October

Reading breakfast – Year 1 – 8:30 – 9:00

Come and enjoy a light breakfast with us and a chance to spend time reading with your child. Staff will be available to talk to if you would lie more support with how you can help your child with reading at home. We ask for a voluntary contribution of 50p from parents to host this event.

Friday 4th October

Year 1 Harvest Festival

Year 1 will host a special parent’s assembly to celebrate harvest. Year 1 parents are invited to join us at 9:10 in the infant school hall.

Virtual Reality Workshop

Both Rowanfield Infants and Junior Schools are hosting an excellent opportunity for children to explore space like an astronaut! Using Virtual Reality headsets, pupils are transported to places you cannot easily visit. A letter will follow asking for a voluntary contribution of £4.50 please.

Year 1 - Come and find out how we teach your children …

Year 1 parents are invited into school at 2:45 to find out how we teach your children phonics. There will be an opportunity to talk to staff and share any questions you have regarding phonics and the phonics screening check. We look forward to seeing you there! This will finish in time for school pick up at 3:00pm.

EYFS - Come and find out how we teach your children …

EYFS parents are invited into school at 2:45 to find out how we begin to teach your children to read. There will be an opportunity to talk to staff and share any questions you have regarding reading at home. We look forward to seeing you there! This will finish in time for school pick up at 3:00pm.

EYFS stay and play 2:00 – 2:45

Come and spend time in your child’s class and enjoy engaging in what we are learning. Activities such as arts, crafts, constriction will be on offer!

There will be an opportunity to talk to staff and share any questions you have regarding reading with your children at home. We look forward to seeing you there! This is a chance for new EYFS prospective parents to see our school in action. Come along between 9:30am and 11:00am for a tour of the school and coffee and cake with our head teacher.

Come and share your views at our parent forum at 2.30pm at Rowanfield Junior School. Please note 2.30pm was the preferred time during a recent parent poll on Facebook.

All pupils will enjoy an exciting presentation from a renowned author. They will have opportunity to purchase a signed book too. More information to follow.

Share a story – 6pm – 7pm

Come and joint us for hot chocolate and bed time stories. Children and parents are invited back to school to get cosy in their pjs and listen to our teachers favourite bed time stories. Hot chocolate and cookies will be on offer too! More details to follow.

Anti-Bullying Week happens in schools across England each November. This year's theme is Change Starts With Us. We invite pupils to wear odd socks on Monday 11th November to celebrate what makes us all unique.
