Drive: Determination

Drive focuses on the need for children to develop resilience and determination in order to ensure they develop a positive and proactive attitude to learning. 

This strand is encouraged in everything the children do and reflects the ‘DRIVE’ element of our school vision.

In order for children to begin to tackle tasks with determination and resilience teachers plan specific learning opportunities which will focus explicitly on these specific learning behaviours.

In addition to this, every Monday our whole school assembly focuses on sharing stories which demonstrate people showing determination in the face of adversity. We encourage the children to put themselves in the shoes of other people and think about how they would tackle similar problems they may face in their own lives.
