School Times.

school gates open 8:40 am
school starts 8:55am
school gates open 2:45 pm
school finishes 3:00 pm

The gates to the playground are unlocked at 8:40am.

Here, families are welcome to assemble until the doors to school open at 8:45am.  Teachers will be on the doors from 8:45am until around 8:55am to welcome the children and meet with you should you have any messages to pass on.  Children should be accompanied by a parent or carer until they are safely in school.

On our first day of any child starting school, they can come through the main office entrance to be met by the Headteacher.

The register is taken from 8:50am and all children should be in school by 9am.  At this time, all doors from the playground are closed, gates locked and families should report to the main Reception to be signed in late.  The gates will be opened again at 2:45pm for children to be picked up from the hall or cloakroom door at 3.00 pm.

If you drive, please be courteous and find a safe place to park which is not on pavements in front of the school.

Please click here visit our Policies page and view our Rowanfield Infant School Attendance Handbook.

If a pupil is prevented from attending school as a result of sickness or other unavoidable cause, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify the school of the pupil’s absence.

We ask that this should be done as soon as possible on the first day of absence and then on any consecutive days. This type of absence is classed as authorised absence unless the Head or another member of staff is unhappy with the reason provided.

Absences due to family bereavement (close relatives only) or for religious observance will be authorised at the Head's discretion. However, absences for shopping, visiting relatives, day trips, birthdays etc will be classed as unauthorised absence.

Attendance of all pupils is closely monitored at Rowanfield Infant School.  Should your child's attendance drop below certain thresholds detailed in the Attendance Handbook, we will look to work with you to help it improve.

Medical Appointments

We encourage parents not to make medical appointments during school time if possible. Medical appointments taken in school time affect attendance figures for individual pupils as well class groups and the school as a whole.
